Coral and Pink Florals with Custom Illustrations

Rebecca & Robert | 7/15/2017

When Becky reached out to us to work on her wedding invitations we were so excited! A friend of a friend from college, Becky and Rob had a beautiful outdoor wedding with a view of the Hudson River, Hudson Valley NY. The personalized details we created for this suite remain some of our favorites.

We printed the invitations with 1-color letterpress over top of digital watercolor. Catherine hand painted the florals and chose a blush envelope with the color palette of the wedding in mind. We loved the mix of corals and pinks! As an added touch of personalization, we included a custom illustration of Becky and Rob with the view from the venue in the background. For an added touch of whimsy, we used a mix of hand lettering styles on the invitation suite including the guest addresses.

My best friend Amelia went to college with Catherine and knew that I would love her style, so I began to follow Printerette on social media and became an instant fan! Almost immediately after getting engaged, I knew I had to reach out and have Printerette design our invitations. I probably emailed Catherine before some of my family members even knew I was engaged! I felt like the personalization of her work, paired with my quirky style and love for small details, was exactly what I was going for.

Catherine got my vision immediately. I sent her some photos of our venue, pics of me and Rob, described our color scheme, and the overall vibe I was going for, and her first draft was spot on. Catherine and Heidi were always available to answer my questions or concerns, or even to make some last-minute changes. Wedding planning can sometimes feel like a business, but Printerette always made it feel like I was just chatting with my super talented friends who were helping me out with my invitations!

After the invites went out, my mom told me her phone was ringing off the hook with people telling her how much they loved them. They had never seen anything like it! One guest even wrote on our RSVP card, "Your invitation made me smile!"

Much like our invitations, we planned our wedding with the hope that it would be a true reflection of us and our relationship. We're both New Yorkers in education, so summer has always been our time for travel and adventures. A July wedding on the Hudson River felt like the natural choice. My brother officiated our wedding, and we took some of the traditional components of a wedding ceremony and remixed them until they felt like they fit us as a couple. We had incredible vendors who really understood what we were going for - from our hands-on florist and creative photographer to our band who let us sing some karaoke at the end of our first dance. It truly was the best day ever!
