By Kait Elle Events

I met Kait when she hired Printerette Press to design and print the “Day Of” stationery for one of her wedding clients. I was thrilled to work with her and wanted you to learn about her business.

Tell me about your business. What do you do? Why did you start it?

By Kait Elle Events is a woman-owned, boutique wedding & event planning and design company. By Kait Elle Events’ expertise is in creating luxurious weddings and events that capture a host's every want and need. By offering a service that most don’t, By Kait Elle differs from many in the planning and design market. Not only do we offer the more traditional event services, including Full Service Planning and Design, we also offer Hourly Consulting. A need for Hourly Consulting in the market is one of the reasons that I created By Kait Elle Events. There are many couples and hosts that would love assistance with their wedding or event, but they don’t want or can’t fit full service planning into their budget. So we’ve added hourly consulting as a capability. This allows clients to retain as little or as many hours as they need for their event. As the owner of by Kait Elle Events, I do it all! From securing new clients to creating every detail for many of our events, being the owner has afforded me the opportunity to master every piece of my company.

Where can we find your business?

Our website is here and follow us on instagram @bykaitelleevents.

Did you always know that you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Yes! I always had an affinity and desire to create my own way!

What is your favorite thing about being a business owner?

My favorite thing about being a business owner is watching our plans and designs come to life. On a daily basis we have the opportunity to create happiness during our clients’ most important and magical moments of their lives. Even though owning a business comes with countless work hours, I enjoy owning a business where I can create my own hours and in turn make it to many of my kids’ games and activities.

What do you think is the hardest thing about being a business owner?

The most difficult thing about being a business owner is witnessing the lack of support for one another amongst competing businesses. We truly believe that the event planning and design market has room for all entrepreneurs, and we should support one another.

If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the mind or body of a 30-year-old for the last 60 years of your life, which would you want?

This might sound silly to some, but the body! I believe that we learn as we age and some of life’s best lessons come in your 30s and, from what I hear, ones 40s and beyond! The Registered Nurse in me (yes, fun fact! I was a Registered Nurse, while also working in the event planning world, before starting my own business) knows that it gets more and more difficult to get your thirty year old body back…if that’s your goal haha.

Do you have a secret hunch about how you will die?

No, but I have an immense fear of flying. I have to fly often, and it never gets less frightening for me.

For what in your life do you feel most grateful?

My husband, my health and for becoming a Mom!

What is the greatest accomplishment of your life?

Creating and building my business from the ground up. Fun fact…I learned how and created my own website until my business made enough money for me to hire a website designer. I think it goes without saying, but another one of my greatest accomplishments has been raising a kind and caring son. He is the apple of my eye!

What changes have you made in your life, if any, from managing the pandemic for the last 2 years?

Pre pandemic I thought that I had patience, but the pandemic offered me the ability to develop even more patience. It also taught me to truly value the importance of health. I’ve always loved working out in many forms including Pilates, boot camp classes, yoga, etc., but the pandemic forced me to work out for 30-60 minutes every single day. Some of the most important words that I live by…you have nothing if you don’t have your health.
