Small Gesture, Big Connection
How Sending a Greeting Card Rekindled a Relationship
Sometimes, simply sending a card can be the small spark that brings people together.
When I was a student at St. Thomas, I had a marketing professor who became a true mentor. He opened a door that led to my entire career in retail. Over the years, he remained an important presence in my life. We stayed in touch, and I even invited him to my wedding.
But, as life tends to do, things shifted. Email addresses changed, and our connection faded.
Last year, as I sat down to send out my holiday greeting cards, I flipped through my old contacts and saw his name. I decided to send him one of my hand-painted cards, hoping it would still reach him.
A few weeks later, I received something unexpected: a letter.A handwritten letter!
That one little card reopened a meaningful connection. We updated our contact info, exchanged stories, and just this week, after all those years, we met for coffee.
Some days gently remind you of what truly matters. This was one of them.
It’s amazing how something as small as sending a card can lead to a big reconnection. That’s the beauty of thoughtfully designed stationery. It helps us slow down, reach out, and remember the people who shaped us.
