Formal gold Foil and 2-color letterpress

Taylor + Mark | 9/10/2016

We are very excited to share Taylor and Mark's September wedding with you today! We worked with Taylor and Mark alongside their planner Jane, of See Jane Plan, to create an ultra-elegant suite. Taylor was sweet enough to take a few minutes to give her thoughts on the invitation planning process below. Thank you, Taylor!!

"We wanted our wedding to reflect us and our families in almost every detail we chose for our big day whether big or small and it all started with our wedding invitation suite.

Once we met with Printerette we knew we wanted to work with them immediately! Catherine and Heidi were such a joy to work with and helped all the details, big or small, come to life and in such a seamless process. Printerette was able to make our invitation suite and day of pieces coordinate and flow effortlessly. Our beloved Boston Terrier, Leo, was on the back of the invitation envelopes and even made it to the cocktail bar menu.

The simplicity and elegance of our escort cards tied together perfectly with the vintage wedding photos of relatives from the past century that we had displayed together on our escort card table. We had many guests from out of town come to our wedding and as something special we had welcome baskets with a Minnesota theme greet them. Within in the baskets, Printerette made us gorgeous Minneapolis/St. Paul maps with our favorite spots to dine, visit, etc. It was truly amazing that Printerette was able to take important aspects of our life and accommodate them with such class into our big day. We can’t thank you enough!!"

The Save the Date and Wedding Invitation featured 2-color letterpress with Gold Foil.  We used a subtle tone for the hand drawn rose pattern in the background and a charcoal ink in a classic serif font for the information. Their names were hand lettered by Catherine and highlighted in gold foil on both the Save the Date and Invitation. We kept the mix of hand lettering and the serif font on the reply card and details card. Which were 2-color letterpress and 1-color letterpress respectively. We used our natural white, 110# cotton lettra for all pieces. Catherine also addressed each of the guest envelopes using a mix of writing styles. We matched the envelope color to the invitation paper to tie it all together.

For the day of, we re-created the rose motif on the programs, this time using digital printing in place of letterpress. We also used digital printing for the escort cards which included the each of the guests names an icon for their meal choice. Possibly our favorite piece was the custom bar sign which featured hand lettering and illustrations by Catherine. Taylor and Mark used their adorable dog Leo as inspiration for a custom cocktail, and made sure his portrait was included. We love working with clients to create personal touches like this!

We loved putting together the custom Minneapolis Map for their welcome baskets. It's a great way to give your guests a glimpse into your daily lives and check out places that are special to you. It might give them some ideas that are truly local favorites that might not pop up on their radar otherwise.

Congratulations and Best Wishes to Taylor & Mark!! Cheers you two!!
